In the close-knit community of the Quad Cities, Duck Creek Tire & Service is more than just an auto repair shop. They are a family deeply connected to the lives of their customers and dedicated to making a positive impact. Now, they are rallying together for a special cause.
Meet Jen Scheetz, a loving wife to local first responder Thom Scheetz, a mother of two, and a cherished grandmother to four. Their family's roots run deep in the Quad Cities Community, where they have touched countless lives with their kindness and selflessness.
On June 15th, 2022, Jen's journey took an unexpected turn when family members noticed a slight right-side facial droop. The devastating diagnosis of Glioblastoma, a formidable brain cancer, soon followed. Over the past year, Jen has shown incredible strength while undergoing rigorous radiation and chemotherapy treatments at Northwestern Medical Center.
Initially told that an operation was not possible, the growth of the tumor changed everything. On May 23rd, 2023, Jen underwent a craniotomy, with surgeons successfully removing 90% of the tumor. It was a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness, but the battle is far from over. More chemotherapy, radiation, and trial treatments are on the horizon, as the Scheetz family continues their courageous fight.
Duck Creek Tire & Service, has known the Scheetz family for years. And could not think of a better recipient for our charity car show fundraiser. Our goal is simple yet profound: to raise funds that will help the Scheetz family manage the challenges of everyday life and cover the overwhelming medical expenses.
The car show will be a vibrant gathering of car enthusiasts, families, and individuals, all united by a shared sense of compassion. Classic cars will take center stage, gleaming with pride and purpose. Local businesses have embraced this cause, generously donating goods and services for a raffle, with every penny going directly to the Scheetz family.
This event is more than just a car show. It is an embodiment of community strength, resilience, and the power of coming together in times of need. Duck Creek Tire & Service invites you to join us on this heartfelt journey, as they stand beside the Scheetz family and make a difference in their lives.
